Announcing Launch of Peak Sherpa Energy Balls: The Energy Bar Redefined

Seattle, WA - October 25, 2018 – Sherpa Foods, SPC – the makers of Peak Sherpa Tsampa Barley Cereals – launched Peak Sherpa Energy Balls on Indiegogo this month. Peak Sherpa Energy Balls come in a single serve resealable pouch, with 8 bite-sized energy balls. The resealable, peel-back packaging is the first of its kind in the US energy bar market.

Peak Sherpa Energy Balls are made with Tsampa, the original Himalayan power food made from sprouted and roasted mountain barley. For centuries, people of the Himalayas and Sherpa mountaineers have relied upon Tsampa for long-lasting energy and its unique nutritional properties.

By combining crunchy Tsampa with wholesome, organic ingredients such as egg whites, pea protein, almond butter, brown rice syrup, nuts, dried fruits, and Himalayan pink salt, Peak Sherpa Energy Balls provide the ideal nutrition profile for outdoor activities while delivering great taste.

How are they better?:

Perfectly portioned ball format to fuel on the go

Peak Sherpa Energy Balls are designed for activity. Mountaineers and climbers, like many endurance athletes, prefer to eat in small chunks when they're physically active. Eight perfectly portioned energy balls are ideal for fueling on the go and easy to share with friends and family.

Unique resealable, peel-pack packing

Peak Sherpa Energy Balls’ packaging is unique, with a resealable peel-back opening - the first of its kind in the US energy bar market. This innovative packaging design allows customers to fuel

on the go and eat as much or as little as they need. No more half-eaten energy bars collecting lint in their backpack!

Balanced nutrition profile – Made with Tsampa, the original Himalayan power food

By combining simple and complex carbohydrates, essential complete proteins, fats, fiber, and electrolytes, Peak Sherpa Energy Balls deliver the ideal balanced nutrition profile for elite endurance athletes, hikers, and anyone looking for a boost of instant and long-lasting energy. 11-14g protein and 2-4g fiber per serving.

Designed and Tested by Mountaineers

Peak Sherpa Energy Balls are the result of a close partnership between Sherpa Foods and mountaineering communities in the Pacific Northwest. The Sherpa guides and mountaineering communities were an integral part of the product development process, and prototypes were tested on the world’s tallest mountains – including Mount Everest. Everything – from flavor, nutrition, packaging, size, and shape – was tested and optimized, creating the ultimate energy snack for outdoor adventures.

Peak Sherpa Energy Balls are available in four delicious flavors. Each peel and reseal packaging contains 8 bite-sized energy balls (2.1 oz):

  • Almond Butter Chocolate Chip - creamy almond butter combined with semi-sweet chocolate chips. An elevated classic - perfect for an on-the-go snack. 13g protein & 3g fiber per serving.
  • Chocolate Almond - delivers a rich, decadent dark chocolate taste with crunchy roasted almonds. An indulgent treat for chocolate lovers. 14g protein & 4g fiber per serving.
